Four commitments guide every decision Eryn will make. At the heart of it all is her commitment to putting students first.

Education Preservation

WCSD has built a strong tradition of academic excellence and preserving that must remain a priority. As we navigate financial pressures and difficult budget decisions, we need to protect the programs, educators, and opportunities that have the greatest impact on student learning. That means evaluating tradeoffs carefully, using data to guide decisions, and ensuring that every student has access to a high-quality, well-rounded education that includes academics, arts, music, and electives.

Our goal should be to preserve the educational experience our students deserve and our families expect, while building a financially sustainable future.

Transparent Leadership with Students First

Our community deserves leadership that is open, collaborative, accountable, and centered on what matters most: our students. Eryn believes good decisions come from listening to educators, families, students, and our broader community, while using data and thoughtful analysis to guide us forward. Eryn will advocate for equitable access to high-quality learning opportunities across WCSD, communicate clearly, and work to build trust through transparency, collaboration, and meaningful community engagement.

Responsible Stewardship of Public Resources

With the recent failure of the Measure L parcel tax, WCSD will face difficult financial decisions that will directly impact our students and schools, our community and WCEF will likely be asked to do even more.

The reality is that California’s Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF) does not fully cover the cost of providing the high-quality education our community expects and our students deserve. Eryn will ensure that every budget decision is data-driven, transparent, and student-centered, protecting educational excellence and ensuring that financial constraints do not come at the expense of equitable learning opportunities for every student.

Opportunities for All

Every decision should begin with a simple question: What is best for our students - academically, socially, and emotionally?

Eryn will continue expanding access to the arts, electives, and programs that help students discover their interests, build confidence, and prepare them for the future. For many students, electives are where they find their passion, their people, and a sense of belonging at school.

We should continue building on what is working, expanding opportunities, and meeting students where they are so every child has the opportunity to find their place and thrive.
